Biography
Cory Wolfe and Team Late Nite Racing are well known in the Northwest. Cory started racing dirt bikes in 1970 and in '84 he and his crew decided to try racing stock cars too. So they built their car and started showing up at Big Sky Speedway on Saturday nights then traveled all night and showed up in another town to race motorcycles. Thus was born "Team Late Nite".
In 1987 Cory won both the Mission Valley Super Stock High Point award and the Dirt Bike 250 Pro Class Championship for the state of Montana. He continued to enjoy success in stock cars. In '89 he won the Silver Bullet Super Stock series Championship and in '91 finished second in regular season points and the Budwieser Series season points.
Around this time Cory & Brian Bosnick were in the stands watching the Montana 200 when they decided to build a car to compete in that race. Their first time out was the '92 Montana 200 and they finished 10th out of 36 entries. In '93 they finished 4th in the 200 and 2nd in Late Model Season Points and in 1994, just 3 years after building their Ford, they won the Montana 200. He has competed in every 200 since, but last year was involved in a wreck towards the end of the race that seriously injured his back. Cory says he has recovered physically but the car was damaged too much to fix so he will miss this years 25th Anniversary race. However, they may build a new car for next year.
Cory was voted '93 Northwest Late model Sportsman of the Year & won the "Cory Wolfe Late Model Challenge Race" at Mission Valley Speedway in '08 & '09.
Cory says he is eternally grateful to all who have helped him in his racing career. "There have been so many people that I hesitate to name for fear of missing someone" he says. He did want to acknowledge some sponsors who have been with him from the beginning though. Don Aadsen Ford, Del McManus & McManus Transport and Rody Construction have helped make Team Late Nite the success that they are.
