Biography
Whatever Bob Taylor puts his energy into you know its going to be done well. From the old time custom cars he builds to his enjoyment of speed and competition, those who know him respect him.
He raced motorcycles and sno
wmobiles early on but after breaking his back jumping a snowmobile, he decided to race cars in 1969 after he recovered. He helped start the Claimer Class At Tri -City Speedway and also raced C-Class, Superstocks and Modifieds there and later at Big Sky Speedway. He holds 4 Season Championships in those classes and 1 track record. He has held fast time for the night in every car he raced.
Bob was a winner! But the exciting part was sometimes how he won. Like winning the trophy dash while coming across the finish line backwards. Or winning the Main Event in his '37 Chevy coup on 3 wheels after losing a wheel with several laps to go. Or starting last in a 50 lap Modified Main Event and passing all 22 cars to win it after breaking a rear axle early in the race.
Bob also served as flagman at Big Sky and Montana Raceway Park as well as on the Board Of Directors for the NWMSCRA. He credits his good friend Larry Barge for much of his success calling him the best pitman anybody could hope for.
