Biography
Bert started racing in the B stock division in 1957 and then moved up to the modifieds in '59. He claimed 2 season points championships and finished second twice before hanging his helmet up in 1964. His racing battles with Clem Wisher always got the crowd going and are still talked about today. After retiring from driving Bert built race engines for many competitors and inspired many people, including his son Jim to become involved in racing to this day.
Bert remained an avid fan of the sport up until his death in 2004.
